A brief update of why the blog has ended.

Susan and I returned home for the christmas of 2011. All was great, we were so enjoying life and looked forward to a wonderful christmas at home with the family. However Susan began with a headache that would not go away. To cut a long story short on January 18th 2012 it was diagnosed from a CT scan that Susan had a brain tumour. She had surgery at Newcastle on January 30th and we were told that the tumour was a glioblastoma multiforme ( GBM grade 4 ). The worst of the worst, and that she was terminally ill. Our devastation is impossible to put into words. I cared and nursed Susan throughout her illness, we stayed positive that she may win the fight almost to the end, but the tumour/cancer took her life on April 9th 2013. Susan was 56 years old. We had been together since we were 15yrs old, 41yrs and were so deeply in love.
As I type the words I still find it hard to believe that it has happened, but I know it has.

I still have the boat Curly Sue but have not been back to her yet. I do not know what I will do, maybe sell, maybe not. Too emotional a decision to make at the moment.

This pic is Susan in Messolonghi, November 2011, two months before diagnosis. Happy and smiling as always.
Brain tumours/cancer- there is no known cause of brain tumours, the 'experts' do not know how they occur.
Likewise, there is no known cure.
In the Uk they are the biggest cancer killer of children and the under 40's

So to all those who have thoughts of sailing away my only advice is......do it

                   LIVE THE DREAM..............

peace and love to all xx
